I think I'm going to use Tripod as my primary site; it seems to be more supportive of FrontPage Server Extensions! Pretty much the same look and feel as Geocities - but 50MB of free space. Subsidiary of Lycos so possibly more prominent positioning with Search Engines. Although - Geocities didn't seem to guarantee better positioning with Yahoo.Tripod - Home
Geocities was the most popular todate, because it offers a lot of features. Features for advanced and novice web site developers. The drawback is it doesn't allow commercial content. Which could be why I haven't been able to interact with a database here. It doesn't recognise .asp as a valid file extension Geocities - Home
Homestead does allow Commercial content. The downside is the editor, which is java objects. Therefore a very slow editor, I haven't been able to use FrontPage to publish to this site. Homestead This used to be my business site, but they changed their policy and requested a subscription. Old business trick that one - offer something for free until you have a business base and then start charging. I just moved on New Look Developments Ltd!
Just using as different theme - content! Using this site also to test Geocities special features, wizards etc... Geocities - 2nd
Deleted the other accounts I had, most were turning into paid hosts - once you have been published for a while. I guess you get what you pay for no matter what it is in this life.
